“I felt like we had a lot of chances to win this game,” said coach Bryan Patterson. “She pitched a good game. You can’t take anything away from her. It was the little adjustments to put balls in play instead of trying to hit one to Bulldog Stadium across the street.”
Once the Emperors got over their early jitters, they started to be patient at the plate as Daugherty hit some rough stretches. Despite holding DHS to a pair of hits, Daugherty walked five batters.

The senior outfielder batted .321 for the Emperors with 14 stolen bases this past season for DHS, who finished with an overall record of 11-13-2 and made the Division III playoffs.
Cosper said playing in the all-star game has always been a goal since his freshman year.
“I’ve always wanted to be in one,” Cosper said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Cosper said for several players this is their last game.
“Coaches said to go out there and showcase what you got and have fun,” Cosper said.
