straight
By Will Goldbeck
For The Times
Reedley College has dropped three straight Central Valley Conference basketball contests.
The latest loss came Jan. 24 in Lemoore, as the Tigers fell to West Hills Lemoore 95-83.
Reedley cut a 17-point defi- cit to three midway in the sec- ond half before running out of gas. The Tigers dressed only seven players and had one player foul out. Anthony Mar- tinez led the second half come- back with 30 points.
The loss was the seventh straight for the Tigers, who fell to 0-3 in conference play and 4-13 overall.
On Jan. 22, the Tigers came up six points short at Fresno City College, falling by an 85- 79 final score. Martinez led Reedley with 25 points and four assists while Justin Parks had 20 points and 16 rebounds.
In their first action in four weeks, the Tigers returned from their COVID break and dropped an 82–76 decision at home to the Merced College Blue Devils.
Four Tigers scored in dou- ble figures in the loss, led by Jamar Bowers with 22 points. Dwayne Howell followed with 19 points before fouling out of the game. It was the first home game played with no fans.
To make up games post- poned due to health and safety concerns, the Tigers will add Monday night games to their regular Wednesday and Satur- day schedule.
