 STORM
Continued from page A1
After a steady shower of overnight and morn- ing rain, a drying and warming period in the early afternoon led to a brief bout of heavy rain and thunder that
swept through Parlier and Reedley. Rumbles of thunder, an intense down- pour of rain lasting about 10 minutes and flashes of lightning passed through downtown Reedley. There even had been re- ports of a funnel cloud in the area, part of multiple
reports in the Valley.
By day's end, the sys- tem passed through the region. leaving clear skies in the area and snow in the mountains. That precipitation also helped firefighters make strong progress on the KNP Complex Fire in Sequoia and Kings Can- yon National Parks. As of Oct. 26, the fire was 60 percent contained and had burned more than
88,000 acres.
