Members of the commu- nity turned out in support of the Reedley Library on Oct. 25 at the Friends of Reedley Library Open House event at the library.
Attendees were served snacks, offered games and activities to play and plenty of books to read. The event was hosted by the library to show the community’s support of the Friends of Reedley Library and the organization’s empha- sis on reading.
A drawing was held to give away three Kindle Reader e- book devices. The winners all were from Reedley — Natalie Jackson, Lorena Torres and Virginia Thomas.
The Friends of Reedley Li- brary meets monthly, and has been actively organizing ef- forts to raise funds for a new library facility. The group is in the process of purchasing land that will house the new library, designed to be three times the size of the present facility.

Staff Report
Police reported that two older Honda Accord cars were stolen on consecutive days last week from sepa- rate locations in Reedley.
The first theft occurred just before 4 p.m. on Oct. 27 in the 1200 block of North Hollywood Drive in north Reedley. Police Sgt. Det.
Bryan Pelayo said the own- er still had possession of the keys of a 1992 brown Honda Accord that went missing from a parked area in front of a residence. As of Oct. 30, the vehicle had not been re- covered.

Obituaries
Lorenza Briseno
Lorenza Briseno of Di- nuba died Oct. 23 at her residence. She was 75.
Ms. Briseno worked as a fruit packer.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, three daughters, one sister, 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A combined Rosary and Mass was held Oct. 31 at the old St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Reedley.
Jesse Camp
Jesse R. Camp of Reed- ley died Oct. 26 at his resi- dence. He was 75.
Mr. Camp worked as a water manager with Alta Irrigation District.
He is survived by his wife, parents and two sisters. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Dopkins Funeral Cha- pel in Dinuba. Services will be at noon Friday, Nov. 2, at Dopkins Chapel. Burial will follow at Smith Mountain
Cemetery in Dinuba.
