detective, and Johnathan Montemayor, an officer and both with Reedley Police were the ones who responded to the call.
When they found him, Taylor’s breathing was shallow, and he soon stopped breathing all to- gether.
Cardenas and Mon- temayor began CPR. Taylor was then rushed to the hospital where he remained in the Inten- sive Care Unit until he recovered.
I strongly believe that Taylor’s story is important for many rea- sons.
Hetoldmehehada problem with addiction.
“I woke up two days later actually,” he said. “I didn’t know where I was and my whole fam- ily was there.”
I told Taylor, every- thing happens for a rea- son. And then asked him, “Why do you believe this happened?”
“The Lord allowed me to be brought down to the end of myself,” he replied.
Taylor, your story can serve as inspiration for others who also struggle. Your story is important for many who will read this.
According to discov- ery.cdph.ca.gov, there
were more than 2,000 deaths in California re- lated to opioids.
Thankfully for the quick thinking of the Reedley Police officers, Taylor was not among those statistics.
Unless one has had a problem with addiction, they won’t know the daily struggle it takes to make it through another day. You are stronger than you think Taylor.
I wish you and your beautiful girlfriend Hannah the best in life. Know that you are not alone. And to the officers who were on site for this call, great job you guys, you continue to make the city of Reedley proud.
