OIt's time U.S. Congress, get to work!
kayU.S.Congress. It’stime. It’s InsteadofworkingwiththePresident,Congress, past time. Get to work. Lace up the like an ostrich, crawled into miserable hole of workbooks. Put on the aprons of selfpity because it didn’t get a candidate who would
legislative craftsmanship. Time to earn those Federal salaries. For the last two years Congress has been the DNC—Do Nothing Congress. Time to earn the paycheck. Justice demands that a person give a full day’s work for a full day’s pay. What has happened for the last two, four, or six years? What have Congresspeople accomplished for the money, perks, and benefits lavished by the taxpayers? A Sixty Minutes television news segment revealed that newly elected legislators must spend 4-6 hours a day calling prospective donors for their re-election war chests. That is not what voters elected the candidates to do. A lawmaker’s job is the business of the American people.
No, no, no. Don’t snivel that Donald Trump prevented Congress from doing its job. What has the legislative body of the United States accomplished besides the 3 C’s—calling names, crying, criticism? Who makes the laws? Don’t use the excuse: It’s Democratic intransigence, Republican intransigence, Liberal intransigence, Progressive intransigence, Independent intransigence. It’s none of those. Congress has lost its way, its moral compass, selling its soul to maintain its lust for power. It is not the party which matters. It is the American public that matters.
Oh, Oh, Oh! Don’t think it’s the Democrats alone who failed the American Taxpayers. The Republican Congress had two years’ control of both House and Senate, but got zilch done, a paralysis of power. Politicians spent the time griping about theTrumpelectionvictory. Crybabieshavevilified him along with Democrats. What has the vitriol accomplished? What social seeds of animosity and disharmony have been spread throughout the nation? What has been the example for our future leaders in high schools? Politicians and sore losers rejected that he won the election fair and square, insulting him for his boorish behavior and comments. (Compare him to Andrew Jackson.) Two years down the road, Americans have listened to these junior high twelve-year old style petty complaints and invective. Wah! Wah! Wah! Congress got paid for this?
kowtow to elitist power. It forgot how to play with the cards that were dealt. Taxpayers are not paying for a twenty second sound bite of raving statements how bad Trump is in someone’s disgruntled view, muttering how he is ruining the country, (in spite of the successes which have occurred).
Well, what has Congress done about jobs? the economy? the National Debt? cyber security? MS13? drugs entering the country? the wall? immigration reform (over twenty-five years of political opportunities)? Social Security running out of money by 2030? honest, fair health insurance and regulation? Chinese theft of technology and trade secrets? Iran’s export of terrorism? trade imbalance? income tax reform (perhaps a flat tax of 13%, like Russia, no deductions)? water needs for 2050 and beyond? infrastructure restoration? education reform to allow public school children to attend to better schools using a voucher system? congressional fund-raising reform?
How much time and money has been wasted over the Mueller investigation? What disgusting conduct and public mistreatment of Bret Kavanaugh’s interview for Supreme Court appointment!
It is time for a national report card on every legislator in the House and Senate. Are Americans better off? What has been completed each year a congressman or woman was paid by the American taxpayer? Let’s not be misogynists, but recognize that Congress has been run by males since the original thirteen states formed a united country. This year there are more Congressional women than ever.
Maybe they have what Congress has not had: care, concern, cooperation, compromise. Perhaps the newly elected Congress-people will reject the recalcitrant Alzheimer-ridden old guard, the swamp dwellers, the DNC—Do Nothing Congress. It is time for CYA—Cover Your Assets—with real work for America. It is time that our political leaders roll up their sleeves and get to work for Americans, not the party. Earn the salary. Get to work. It is time.

Suspect in string of pellet gun shootings arressted
Sentinel staff report
Since Dec. 1, the Dinuba Police Department has been dealing with a string of shootings within the city. Calls have come in from various citizens who say claim their vehicles were shot at while driving through town, many times in the West El Monte Way area.
In total, the police department received 18 separate incidents involving someone shooting a pellet/BB gun at either vehicles or persons, many times causing damage to vehicle windows.
Now, according to the police, the suspect in the string of shootings has been arrested.
On Monday, Jan. 7, just after 8 p.m. officers from the Dinuba Police Department were dispatched to an undisclosed residence within city limits in response to a drive-by-shooting
that had just occurred. Just a few minutes later officers were dispatched to another residence near the first call, for another reported shooting involving a pellet gun.
While enroute, officers stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle. Inside the vehicle they reportedly located a handgun style pellet gun, a rifle type pellet gun and several cases of BBs and pellets.
The driver, Irving Malagon, 26, was taken into custody.
Through an investigation, detectives from the Dinuba Police Department were able to connect the Malagon with several of the previously reported shootings. The investigation remains ongoing.
Malagon was booked at the Dinuba Police Department and transported to the Tulare County Adult Pretrial Facility
Irving Malagon
