The Reedley College women’s golf team finished the first undefeated season in Lady Tiger history with a 358-453 victory over the Taft College Cougars on March 25 at the Buena Vista GC in Taft.
The 12–0 Tigers tied their best score
of the season with a 358. Sophomore Mya Chou (Golden West, Visalia) led the Tigers with a round of 83. Sophomore Kayla Her- nandez (Paso Robles) was next with an 86. Sophomore McKenzie Quinn (Clovis East) followed with an 89 while Cynthia Reyes (Golden West, Visalia) was next with a 100.

coach Scott Stark. ‘We continued to get better every week.’

Nick Wise caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from John Pena just before halftime, but a missed extra point kick kept the score at 7-6. Kingsburg had gotten on the board earlier in the quarter on a 1-yard run by Trace Jackson.
Both teams had big defensive stands in the second half. The Apaches stopped Kingsburg on downs inside its own 10-yard-line early in the third quarter, and the Vikings twice turned away the hosts in the final period. Sanger drove to the Kingsburg 31 in the final minute before turning the

for 177 yards and four touch- downs while senior quarter- back Evan Lara threw for 174 yards and two scores as the Cardinals (1-1) trounced the visiting Cowboys.
Martinez — who has 365 yards rushing (8.9 yards per carry) and six touchdowns in two games — rushed for three of his scores in the first half as Orosi built a 34-0 halftime lead. The Cardinals had four scores in the second quarter, including a 20-yard run by Martinez.
Lara completed 4 of 8 passes including touchdown throws to senior receivers Bryan Chavez (a 59-yard hookup) and Aidan Rodriguez (two catches for 96 yards). The Cardinals rushed for 312 yards including touch- down runs by Rodriguez (who ran seven times for 68 yards) and Jafet Villatoro. Orosi fin- ished with 486 total yards.
The Cardinals will play a Thursday, April 1, home game, taking on Fowler High in a scheduled 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

As of the most recent update on Tuesday, March 30, there had been 99,085 confirmed cases (3.2 percent positive rate of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) out of 1,075,652 tests in Fresno County, with 1,593 deaths and 143 hospitalizations.

Among Mid Valley Times cities in the county through March 30 (Fresno County's new dashboard surveillance is providing precise updates for regions rather than cities), the Sanger region continued with the most total overall positive cases with 6,102 (4,300 in the city proper) and 53 deaths according to the FCDPH website. Through the March 30 update, Reedley (including immediate surrounding rural areas) still was showing 4,454 cases (3,400 in the city proper) and 61 deaths; Parlier was listed at 2,970 (2,400 regional) cases with 33 deaths and Orange Cove had 1,500 (2,820 regional) cases and 12 deaths. In Tulare County, there were 48,039 total confirmed cases (408 active, down 140 for the week) of COVID-19 with 809 deaths and 27 hospitalized as of Tuesday, March 30. Breakdowns by cities/regions through March 30 show 4,188 cases (54 in the past three weeks) in Dinuba, 1,468 in Orosi, 747 in Cutler, 267 in Traver, 60 in the rural area south of Reedley and 22 in the rural area southeast of Orange Cove.
