Monday, November 1
• A vehicle versus bicy- clist was reported at 4:25 a.m. at El Monte Way and Monte Vista Avenue. There was no report of injuries.
• Vehicle vandalism was reported at 6:42 a.m. in the 400 block of Vermont Avenue.
• Brandishing a weapon was reported at 10:20 a.m. in the 600 block of
The Reedley Police Department handled 639 public-initiated and offi- cer-initiated calls for ser- vice, with 98 dispatched as Priority 1 calls. Offi- cers completed 131 po- lice reports, made 22 ar- rests and issued 54 traf- fic citations. There were six traffic collisions and three DUI cases, one fire call and 26 medical aid calls.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 10AM November 23, 2021, by the cannon at the Reedley Cemetery, for Burton (Burt) Dale Penner.
Burt passed on February 13, 2021 at the United States Veteran’s Hospital at Fresno, California.
He leaves behind a sister, JoAnn Unruh. He was predeceased by the passing of his wife: Deborah (Nance) Penner many years ago. They had no children.
Burt was born to Walt and Leona Penner of Reedley on April 3, 1946. His occupation was an automotive machinist.
Burt enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as an Artilleryman in the Viet Nam War. He was proud to have served his country and the Corps.
He was a daily reader of The Bible, and researcher of history. He was a member of The Reedley Historical Society and contributed many hours to the paint maintenance of the walls and cabinets of the museum.
Remembrances’ may be contributed to the Reedley Museum in Burt’s name at PO Box 877, Reedley, CA 93654. The museum is a 501(c)(3)

Dinuba, California - Robert Earl Rocca was born and raised in Fresno, California, graduating from Central High School. He went on to obtain his associate degree from Fresno City College. Robert owned operated many business in his life. He was truly entrepreneur. At the time of his passing he was a Mechanic at Parlier Unified School District, owner/operator of Rocca Distributing and ROMA Storage. He served on the Board of Directors for Villa Borgata Condominiums Association as their Treasurer.
Robert married his wife, Maria Rocca, in 1996. November 30th they would have celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Robert loved to serve his community, which meant whatever Maria was involved in he was there to support her and lend a helping hand. Robert was the hardest working individual you would ever meet. He was dedicated to his position at Parlier Unified School District and wanted to make the equipment safe while keeping it clean and looking perfect for the children and took pride in his position. No job was too big or too small and it just needed to be done right.
Robert & Maria enjoyed meeting new people while vacationing in their travel trailer with their 4-legged children. They enjoyed being on the coast and were able to make one more trip, prior to Robert’s passing in July.
Robert loved his church family at New Beginnings Christian Center in Dinuba, CA. He was the sound technician for the church services prior to his 13 month battle with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Robert fought hard and fought until the end.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Sandy Rocca. He is survived by his wife, Maria Rocca, brother Randy and his wife Christy, brother Rusty, sister-n-law, Kristi Henkle and her husband, Michael, his son Zachary along with his neices & nephews: Nick (Kim)Rocca, Katie (David) Wilson, Matt (Amanda) Rocca, Natalie (Shane) Scarfeo, Claire (Cody) Buford, Cameron Henkle, Kaycee Henkle and Cole Henkle and many great nieces and nephew along with Friends who were Family.
Robert passed away peacefully at his home with his family and friends by his side.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Beginnings Christian Center on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at 11 a.m.

David Raphael passed away at
the age of 90 on October 7, 2021.
David was born in Reedley, CA. on April 14, 1931 the 7th of 8 children to Mike and Catherine Raphael.
After graduating from Reedley High School, David enlisted into the United States Navy. He was discharged in 1954. He then went to work for Bank of America. He worked in different offices between Fresno and Bakersfield before retiring after 28 years. While working at the bank he made countless friends. David was always willing to show his generosity. Through out life he loved to play cards, golf, tennis and cook. His day started with coffee with the guys and then to the gym up until the end. He will be greatly missed.
David was preceded in death by his parents Mike and Catherine. His siblings Albert, Victor, Rose, Mike and Charles. His two dogs Charlie and PK. He is survived by his brothers Manuel and Joe, sons Brian, Marty and Tommy. Daughter-in-laws Linda, Jean and Brenda. He has 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Reedley Mobile Home Park Club House on November 13, 2021 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Internment services will be held at the Bakersfield National Cemetery, Arvin on November 15, 2021 at 10:45 am.
