The Apaches con- tinued play on Dec. 28 against an unknown op- ponent (results were un- available at press time), and have games sched- uled for Dec. 29 and Thursday, Dec. 30.

During the traffic stop, deputies located sto- len weapon, a loaded .357 Magnum revolver sitting in plain view inside the truck. Along with the fire- arm, 11 bindles of honey oil, a bag of marijuana and extra ammunition also were discovered.
Alvarez was charged with three felonies fol- lowing the 2019 incident.
There is no known motive for the Christ- mas day shooting. De- tectives said the investi- gation into the shootings will take some time.
“It does appear that
there was some type of family Christmas event that was taking place at the time of this trag- edy,” said Pursell. “This is a complex scene and we have multiple scenes, both where the homi- cide took place and also where the suspect was eventually arrested, out- side of Orange Cove.”
While Pursell said the incident was isolated, it was extremely unsettling.
“This is one of the worst acts of violence I have seen in my career,” he said.
Anyone with addi- tional information on the shooting is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 559-600-3111.
