The Reedley Police Department handled 524 public-initiated and offi- cer-initiated calls for ser- vice, with 95 dispatched as Priority 1 calls. Offi- cers completed 83 police reports, made 23 arrests and issued 15 traffic ci- tations. There were two traffic collisions and two DUI cases, four fire calls and 27 medical aid calls.

Kent (“Ken”, as some may know him), Dorsey Davis’ soul was released to soar on it’s final journey and to its last eternal chapter on May 22, 2021 at 6:37 a.m. It was peaceful and he is in discomfort no more, Praise God!
He was born to Hannah Dorsey and Schuyler Marcellus Davis on December 27, 1931. He was raised in Kingsburg, going to and graduating from a very, very small country school (named Clay School), right down the street from their farm, on to graduate from Kingsburg High School, where he and his brother Irwin both played football. Kent went on to Reedley Junior College for four years where he graduated with an Associate in Arts Degree, and on to California State Berkley where he studied for two years in Civil Engineering. He then served and studied in the Army from Jan. 1954 - Jan. 1957 with his major course of study, being Civil Engineering. He studied at U.S. Army Engineering School at Ft. Belvoir, VA. He completed to enter civilian life as a Construction Supervisor (Instructor) and Surveyor. He lived in and served in various cities in the County of Fresno in his major field, sometimes said to be wearing more than one hat, and loving it. Civil Engineering, etc. was in his blood and he talked about many of the facets into his last days. Though retired, never retired! He enjoyed downhill skiing in his younger years, fishing, spending holidays with his brothers family and visiting, to enjoy football games and their shared passion in remote control airplane flying and venturing up and down the state to various air shows for both big and small.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Irwin, and only nephew and is succeeded by a sister-in-law Patricia Davis, niece Theresa Lavagnino (Davis), two great-nieces and one great-great-nephew Ronan James (RJ).
A Memorial Services will be held at Dopkins Chapel in Reedley on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at

     Dorothy Mae SchapanSky
    On May 10, 2021, at age of 90 Dorothy Mae Schapansky passed away at Sierra View Retirement Home in Reedley, CA. Loving and devoted wife of Dale Schapansky for 66 years. Beloved mother of Denise Derksen of Reedley, CA, David Schapansky of Kuna, ID, and Greg Schapansky of Santa Rosa, CA. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was born on July 12, 1930 in Hutchinson, KS to Peter and Susan Lange. She attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS and received her teaching credential at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. She met Dale Schapansky at Tabor College and they were married in 1954 and shortly after they made their home in Reedley, CA. Dorothy enjoyed teaching but when her children were born she wanted to be home with her family. She washappiestwhenshecouldcareforherchildrenandgrandchildren. She was also a devoted caretaker for her parents and her sister Ruth Ann.
In the final chapter of their careers Dorothy and Dale worked together for Holiday Corporation and they traveled
to many facilities in California and Nevada. They enjoyed meeting new people and during
their many road trips they
explored much of the
country.
