Parlier, Sanger, OC police team in crime suppression detail
Members of the Parlier Police Department joined forces with the Sanger and Orange Cove police departments to conduct a crime suppression detail on the afternoon and evening of March 12 in all three cities. The combined units conducted several probation and parole searches in the communities, and saturation enforcement also was conducted.

Reedley man arrested in shooting

Reedley police arrested an 18-year-old Reedley man last week in connection to a shooting earlier this month that wounded a victim.
Braulio Vega was taken into custody the evening of March 8, after police detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Vega is accused of shooting an unnamed victim, resulting in a non-life-threatening wound, in the area of 12th and D streets shortly before 6 p.m. on March 2. Witness statements and an investigation determined that Vega was respon- sible for the shooting with a shot- gun, according to police.

recovered in Tulare County. With the assistance of the Fresno Coun- ty Adult Compliance Team (ACT), surveillance was conducted at several locations in an effort to track down Vega.
At approximately 8 p.m. on March 8, officers located Vega in
a hotel room in the 1300 block of East Manning Avenue. Vega at- tempted to flee when officers sur- rounded the room and attempted to call him out, but he was appre- hended without incident. A search of the area was conducted, and officers located the shotgun be- lieved to be used in the assault.
Vega was later transported to the Fresno County Jail and booked for assault with a firearm, posses- sion of a firearm by a felon, posses- sion of ammunition by a prohibited person, and resisting arrest.
Reedley Police Investigations is continuing to investigate this case, and are requesting anyone with information to contact the Reedley Police Department at (559) 637-4250.
As of the Tuesday, March 15 update, there were 228,470 total cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) out of 2,533,627 tests om Fresno County, with 2,582 deaths and 140 people hospitalized (20 in ICU).
In Tulare County, there were 102,866 confirmed cases (852 active, a decline of 531 for the week) of COVID-19 with 1,362 deaths and 39 people hospitalized (6 in ICU) as of Tuesday, March 15. The breakdowns by cities/regions show 8,048 total cases in Dinuba, 2,757 in Orosi, 1,395 in Cutler, 526 in Traver, 209 in the rural area south of Reedley and 58 in the area southeast of Orange Cove.

Patrol officers con- ducted a probation compliance check at a residence in the 3000 block of Sterling Ave- nue checking on Devin Atondo and his brother, both of whom are on felony probation.
When officers made contact at the front door, Devin Atondo reported- ly attempted to run up- stairs with a backpack in hand. Officers quick- ly detained both broth- ers, and upon searching the backpack, located a loaded Glock handgun, which had been previ- ously reported stolen.
