The Selma Bears picked up their second victory in as many baseball meetings this sea- son with Central Sequoia League rival Imman- uel High last week. But it's the rubber game of three meetings that ultimately will determine the league championship,
The Bears (19-3) roughed up a taxed Eagles pitching staff for 16 runs on 13 hits — fueled by four-run outbursts in the first two innings and eight runs in the fifth — to post a 16-6 victory in the championship game of the 63rd annual Kiwanis Classic at SHS diamond the evening of April 17. Selma earlier posted a 5-2 CSL win at Selma on March 26.
But the Eagles (20-4) will have the home field edge Friday, April 26, in a 7 p.m. showdown against the Bears at "The Yard" at Immanuel Sports Complex. Both teams were4 8-1 in league entering Selma's April 24 game at home against Exeter.
If Immanuel wins, it would hold a one-game lead in the loss column going into its final CSL games at Hanford West (Tuesday, April 30) and at home against Central Valley Christian (Thurs- day, May 2).
Immanuel's offense in the tourney final was limited to one big inning — a six-run second
