PARADE
Continued from page B1
This year’s animals included a zebra named Marvin brought by Lindy Robin- son of Robinson Roundup in Reedley. The group – which rents its animals and facility for birthdays, weddings and other occasions – also brought a “unicorn” named Flutterby.
Noelle Bartel, 5, was in the parade with a miniature horse named Trigger. She ex- plained why she liked about the event: “We get to bring an animal.”
First-timers this year also included Lo- gan Kuykendall, 10, and Kaiden Kuykend- all, 2, and their mother, Daneal Kuykendall. Their theme was “Harry Potter,” with Lo- gan and Kaiden as students of the Hogwarts school and Daneal as Professor Minerva McGonagall. Daneal said Logan brought home a flier about the parade: “He thought it would be fun to dress up ... and we could do it together and have fun.”
The experience only got better for Lo- gan: he was chosen as the Sweepstakes win- ner and received a one-week campership to YMCA Camp Sequoia. Other entrants won Summer Day Camperships at the Reedley Community Center or small cash prizes.
Here are the other winners from May 5, as provided by parade organizers:
• Costumes, first category – Madelynn
