The benefits of living in a Continuing Care Retirement Community in uncertain times

We have been liv- ing in uncertain times since the beginning
of time. It has always been important to have a savings account and be as prepared as you can be for unexpected events that occur. Without warning, the economy can change, work can change and health can change among many other things.
For seniors, especially
those 60 years and older, the likelihood of something changing with their health in- creases with every year at a much more rapid pace than during their younger years. So,
for seniors who plan ahead, those who put gas in their car before running out, there
are things that can
be done to minimize stress and nancial struggle when health changes. is is espe- cially important for seniors whose children live far away, have no children or are living alone. One unexpected fall can be a life chang- ing event.
When a senior moves to Palm Village Re- tirement Community, a Continuing Care Retirement Com-
munity, many things are automatically put into place. First of all, there are ve levels of care. Whatever care level is needed in the future, is already in place within the same community so there
is no need to move should needs change. If additional care is needed on a temporary or permanent basis, it is available. If there
is a waiting list for
the next level of care, Palm Village residents receive priority access. ere is also continuity of care between all ve levels among the sta who meet regularly.
Palm Village resi- dents, who live at any of our ve levels of care, do not need to worry about where they will go should
their needs change. is is especially bene- cial for couples when one needs more care. ey can both move to a higher level of care or just one can. It is
a short walk to visit with a spouse who is either temporarily in
a higher level of care or has made a per- manent move. Many Palm Village residents have bene ted from our rehabilitation and therapy services, spe- ci cally designed for seniors, either on an out patient basis or
as an inpatient and moved back to their prior level of care.
With the hot weath- er upon us, seniors liv- ing in an Independent Living Patio Home, do not have worry about their air conditioning. Palm Village is respon- sible for all mainte- nance and any repair costs. We have main- tenance sta available and quick response vendors should we need them. All home maintenance is taken care of by Palm Vil-
lage sta including the yard work. It can truly be a worry-free life- style. And did I men- tion the great meals served in our many dining rooms. ose of you who have eaten here know how good the food is. Meals are provided for all levels of care.
Life can be uncertain at times but living at Palm Village can take much of the uncertain- ty out of a senior’s life.
