As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, there had been 724 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Fresno County, with nine deaths. Among Mid Valley Times cities, Sanger (including the region to the northeast) had the most positive cases with 52 while Reedley had 35 cases. Parlier has 30 cases while Orange Cove has 19 cases. Fowler has four or fewer cases. The county reported that 253 of the positive cases had recovered.
In Tulare County, there were 858 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 40 deaths as of noon on May 5. Breakdowns by cities/regions now are available, with 118 cases in Dinuba, 14 in Orosi, and less than 11 each in rural areas south of Reedley, in the Traver area and east of Orange Cove.
A total of 146 people had recovered from the virus in Tulare County.
