Robert “Big Rob” Alcantar
May 10, 1977 ~ January 18, 2021
Robert Alcantar was born on May 10th 1977, he left us to soon on January 18, 2021. Robert was born and raised in Sanger CA. He was caring & supportive towards his family as well as his Soccer family. He coached for many years in and around the Reedley area and loved every second being on the field teaching the Kids how to play the sport he loved the most. He was very competitive, he gave his best in everything he did and always wanted to be the best. Robert had a great sense of humor and would love to imitate everyone he knew. He would quietly observe you and then once you left the room, he would start making fun of you especially his Family. Robert had a variety of things he loved. His joy was sports, dancing, eating (he loved to eat), singing, coaching, floating and liked to watch comedy shows like “The Office”. He also loved his job and was great at it too. He wanted us to stick together through it all and especially to be there for our little brother Austin and Our Mom. Being a role model and working hard was all that he asked of us.
He was very proud of all his accomplishments, especially marrying the love of his life, Iris and starting a family. He purchasing their new home just weeks before and was so proud that he was able to buy his Family a beautiful Home to call their own. He was so proud of all those games he coached over the years and all of the victories most especially. He was so proud of every single kid who had the chance to be coached by Him. His biggest accomplishment and the most proud moment in his eyes was the day his children were born. Nothing or no one could have separated him from his babies. He never wanted to put them down; he carried them all day and showered them with love. He taught his children so much; he showed them how to work hard for what they wanted in life. He taught them that when times were tough you never gave up; and lastly he taught us how to party. Anyone who came to one of our party’s knows “Big Rob was definitely the life of the party. He loved to joke around and randomly say phrases like “that’s what she said” and if he wanted to know if we had a good day he would say “did you kick ass today”? We know he is looking down smiling, watching all the love and support everyone has given to our family. We are truly blessed.” On behalf of my Dad aka “Big Rob”, aka “sweetie”, and aka “papa bear” thank you all for your prayers and support.”
He is survived by the love of His Life, his Wife, Iris Alcantar, his Daughter, Destiny Garcia, his sons, Robert, Levy and Austin Alcantar and his granddaughter Cami Diaz and his Mother in Law, Yolanda Serna. He is also survived by his Mother, Mary Helen Alcantar, his Sister, Christina Collazo and his brother, Albert Alcantar and many many Nieces and Nephews who loved him like a Father. He will be greatly missed.
