Roy Melvin Grass
July 29, 1928 - January 27, 2021
Roy Melvin Grass was born on July 29, 1928 in Dinuba and went to be
with the Lord on January 27, 2021 in Visalia. Roy was the son of
Henry Jacob and Maggie (Mart- zen) Grass.
He married the love of his life, Virginia Ann Paul in March 1954. They were blessed with 63 years of married life. Roy always carried a cherished
picture of Virginia in his wallet and enjoyed showing off his
sweetheart even after Virginia’s death.
Roy was a custodian for Dinuba schools for 35 years, starting his career
at Dinuba High School. He bragged that he attended Grandview Elementary school then
worked there as an adult. He loved and enjoyed being surrounded by the students. In return, these children loved him as they became adults many remembered Roy. The school staff were his second family and many became lifelong friends.
Roy was an avid gardener and wanted to be remembered for his yard and flowers. Roy’s yard was an oasis filled with vibrant colors of the flowers he loved, and he planted new displays for each sea- son. At the young age of 91 he planted three
flats of flowers and 125 flower bulbs all in the same day. His home was his delight, and he lived all his life on
the same property. Roy’s home was special to him because his father Henry Jacob built it for Roy and
his bride.
His smile could light up a
room and his personality was as bright and colorful as his flow-
ers. Roy possessed the heart of
a giant and the word most often used to describe Roy was kind. He has been described as the kindest person ever encountered. He was a faithful and loving friend.
Roy is preceded in death by his wife
Virginia, his parents, his brother and his
sisters. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Roy’s friend family was large and dear to him.
Due to Covid restrictions, no services are planned at this time. Since the children at Grandview School held a special place in Roy’s
heart the family is requesting that remembrances in Roy’s name be made to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.

Linda Corine
Mendenhall
A good neighbor has your back.
Life’s a combination of good days and bad. I have your back for both. And who has my back? The company more people have trusted for
90 years. CALL ME TODAY.
On Sunday, January 24th, Linda Corine Mendenhall, loving mother of four children, passed away at age 65 surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born on July 22, 1955 in Bakersfield, Ca. to Luis and Maxine Gutierrez. Linda had an immense amount of love for her children. She was known for her love of travel. Never one to stay in a single place for too long, friends and family would often have to ask for her correct address before sending anything. Nine times out of 10, she was at the beach relaxing and living her best life. Her smile could light up a room and she always knew what to say to make someone feel special. Linda would literally give you the clothes off her back (or shoes, or jewelry, or purse), all you needed to do was say you liked it.
Linda was preceded in death by her Mother, Maxine. They will now be in heaven together having yard sales and gossiping in spanish daily. She is survived by her father, Luis Gutierrez, her four children; Leslie (Arthur) Kopp, Cindy (Joshua) Malone, Matthew (Dylan) Mendenhall and Taylor Mendenhall, her sisters Chris Dall and Laura Cowett and brother Arthur Gutierrez. Linda is also survived by her 10 grandchildren (Samantha, Alexys, Hannah, Blake, Luke, Leia, Theodore, Colby, Bradley and Andy), several nieces and nephews and so many loving cousins, Aunts, Uncles and special friends that meant so much to her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral
Chapel. Memorial Tributes and condolences may be offered by logging onto www. salseranddillard.com.
