Obituaries
Salvador Arguello
Salvador Espino Ar- guello of Reedley died Feb. 20 in Fresno. He was 80.
Mr. Arguello worked as a foreman.
He is survived by his wife, Balbina Arroyo Ar- guello, one daughter and three grandchildren.
No services were listed. Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel is han- dling the arrangements.
Michael Carrigan
Michael Leonard Carrigan of Fresno died March 23. He was 65.
Mr. Carrigan, a vet- eran, was a retired elec- trician-journeyman.
He is survived by three daughters and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held. Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home handled the ar- rangements.
Virginia DeGraw
Virginia Ann De- Graw of Clovis died March 29 in Fresno. She was 83.
Mrs. DeGraw worked as a bookkeeper. She is survived by her husband, Daryl De- Graw, two daughters, two sons, nine grand- children and four great-
grandchildren.
A graveside service
will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, at Smith Mountain Cem- etery in Dinuba.

Jesus Escareno
Jesus Cuevas Es- careno of Reedley died March 28 in Reedley. He was 79.
Mr. Escareno worked as a foreman.
He is survived by his wife, Antolina R.
Cuevas, two sons, four daughters, five broth- ers, one sister, 13 grand- children and four great- grandchildren.
A service was held April 6 at St. Antho- ny of Padua Catholic Church in Reedley. Burial was at Reedley Cemetery.
Luis Granados
Luis Enrique Ro- driguez Granados of Reedley died March 30 in Selma. He was 28.
Mr. Granados worked as a loan officer.
He is survived by his parents, Alberto and Emilia Rodriguez, five brothers and four sisters.
A mass was held April 7 at St. La Salle Catholic School in Reed- ley. Burial was at Reed- ley Cemetery. Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel is handling the arrange- ments.
Luciano Lopez Jr.
Luciano N. Lopez Jr. of Reedley died March 23 in Fresno. He was 59.
Mr. Lopez worked as a supervisor.
He is survived by his mother, Olivia Lopez, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will befrom4to7p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at Dopkins Reedley Fu- neral Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Orange Cove.
Grace Owen
Grace Owen of Visa- lia died April 3 in Visa- lia. She was 89.
Mrs. Owen was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Herman
Owen of Visalia, three sons, four grandchil- dren and two great- grandchildren.

Vicente Sanchez of Dinuba died March 30 in Dinuba. He was 71.
Mr. Sanchez worked in farm labor.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Sanchez, two daughters and sev- en grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at Dopkins Di- nuba Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Smith Mountain Cem- etery in Dinuba.
Reyes Trevizo Jr.
Reyes Trevizo Jr. of Dinuba died Feb. 18 in Dinuba. He was 75.
Mr. Trevizo was a farm worker.
He is survived by two sons, eight daugh- ters, four brothers, six sisters, 21 grandchil- dren and five great- grandchildren.
Services were held. Sterling & Smith Funer- al Home in Dinuba han- dled the arrangements.
Efren Valadez
Efren Manjarrez Va- ladez of Reedley died March 23 in Hanford. He was 51.
Mr. Valadez worked as a handyman.
He is survived by his wife, Maria G. Man- jarrez, two sons, one daughter, four sisters and two grandchildren.
A mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 9, at St. Anthony of Pad- ua Catholic Church in Reedley. Burial all be in Reedley Cemetery.

Reedley's death toll in the latest update climbed to 68, Parlier increased to 37, Fowler was at 20 deaths and Or- ange Cove at 13 deaths.
Total deaths for the county were at 1,597, an increase of four for the week. City totals had higher increases because this is the first update in deaths for cit- ies dating back weeks.
Fresno County is ex- pected to reach a mile- stone this week, as the total number of COVID cases is just 245 short of 100,000 infections. How- ever, testing has contin- ued to climb with more than 1.1 million tests ad- ministered.

He began his college education at San Jose State, and later graduated from Fres- no State in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in journalism focused on news writing. While his journalism prowess took him around the Valley, he worked on two occa- sions for his hometown Sentinel.
In addition to his journalism career, Mi- yamoto enjoyed music and was an active mem- ber of his church, Mid- Cities Baptist Church in Westminster.
Miyamoto is sur- vived by his wife of nearly four years, Eve Miyamoto, two brothers and one sister. A memo- rial service was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Covina on March 19.

COVID-19 update
As of the most recent update on Tuesday, April 6, there had been 99,755 confirmed cases (3 percent positive rate of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) out of 1,110,764 tests in Fresno County, with 1,597 deaths and 128 hospitalizations.
Among Mid Valley Times cities in the county through April 6 (Fresno County's new dashboard surveillance is providing precise updates for regions rather than cities), the Sanger region continued with the most total overall positive cases with 6,102 (4,500 in the city proper) and 63 deaths according to the FCDPH website. Through the April 6 update, Reedley (including immediate surrounding rural areas) still was showing 4,454 cases (3,500 in the city proper) and 68 deaths; Parlier was listed at 2,970 (2,500 in city) cases with 37 deaths and Orange Cove had 1,500 (2,820 regional) cases and 13 deaths.
Del Rey was at 307 cases (900 in region) while Fowler had 1,256 cases (1,000 in the city) and 20 deaths through April 6. The region that includes Squaw Valley, Dunlap and Miramonte had 316 total cases on the new data surveillance website through April 6. The county announced that it will not list recoveries at this time to reallocate staff for new cases.
In Tulare County, there were 49,175 total confirmed cases (332 active, down 76 for the week) of COVID- 19 with 814 deaths and 16 hospitalized as of Tuesday, April 6. Breakdowns by cities/ regions through April 6 show 4,201 cases (42 in the past three weeks) in Dinuba, 1,470 in Orosi, 747 in Cutler, 268 in Traver, 60 in the rural area south of Reedley and 22 in the rural area southeast of Orange Cove.
A total of 48,029 people (97.7 percent) in Tulare County were listed as recovered as of April 6.

A Vietnam veteran and former Fresno County Deputy Sheriff, Mike Castillo Flores was a man of strength and honor. A loving father and compassionate husband. Forever will be loved by Maria, Mikey, and Manny.
