MVT Staff Report
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the commu- nity’s help in finding two ‘people of interest’ in the murder of a New London man that happened two years ago.
In 2018, Paul Abraca was found murdered in his home in New Lon- don, where deputies say he died from blunt force trauma to his upper body. Deputies say the sus- pects in the case attempted to set Abraca’s house on fire and then ran away from the scene.
After a preliminary investiga- tion, TCSO Detectives were able to
Arturo Mascareno
Second person of interest
identify a second person of inter- est who has yet to be identified.
The second person is believed to have ties to Salinas. Botah men are considered dangerous and TCSO detectives are currently working with US and Mexican authorities in an attempt to lo- cate the two men.
A motive for the murder re- mains under investigation. Any- one with information regarding the case is encouraged to contact Detective Morley or Sgt. Sanchez at (559) 733-6218, or anonymous- ly by calling or texting (559) 725- 4194 or through email at tcso@ tipnow.com.

Victim of April 24 crash identified as Rosa Para, 39
MVT Staff Report
A chain reaction crash involving a sports utility vehicle and two tractor-trailer trucks in north Dinuba claimed the life of a Cutler wom- an on April 24.
Rosa Para, 39, was identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as the victim of the 11:30 a.m. crash at the inter- section of Alta Avenue (Road 80) and Floral Av- enue (Avenue 432) at the Fresno-Tulare county line.
Officer Victor Taylor with the California High- way Patrol said Para was driving a Toyota Sienna SUV west on Floral, pulled into the intersec- tion and into the path of a southbound big rig. The truck-trailer combo struck the SUV in the passenger side, eventu- ally losing control and toppling onto its right side after shearing a power pole south of the intersection.
The SUV then spun into the northbound lane of Alta, where a second big rig was approach- ing. Despite the efforts of the driver to stop, the big rig struck the SUV and both vehicles came
to rest at the south- east cor- ner of the inter- section.
Para was pro- nounced dead at the scene. It was un- known if the SUV failed to stop at the sign or merely failed to yield the right of way, Taylor
said.
The driver of the
southbound truck-trailer was transported to Ad- ventist Health hospital in Reedley with moder- ate injuries. The driver of the northbound truck was uninjured.
Power company crews were on site to re- pair the wires damaged from the crash. Traf- fic was re-routed while the accident scene was cleaned up. Southbound vehicles on Alta Avenue were redirected west on- to Floral Avenue and the intersection remained blocked off into the af- ternoon.
The Alta-Floral in- tersection has been the scene of multiple acci- dents in recent years.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up for Para.
