RHS boys water polo romps, girls win tourney
Staff Report
Reedley High School's girls tennis team wrapped up the North Yosemite League cham- pionship Oct. 4 with a 7-2 vic- tory over second place Hoover at the RHS tennis courts.
The victory improved Reedley to 9-0 in league play with just one match remain- ing, against Sunnyside on Oct. 9. Results of that match were unavailable at press time.
The Pirates won five of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches.
"Our strength through league has been our depth at singles," said coach Randy Lepp. "I attribute much of that to an outstanding JV program that is consistently feeding the varsity team with well- prepared players."
Jocilynn Pueblas swept to a 6-3, 6-1 victory in number one singles while Reedley also received wins from No. 3 Emma Mulligan (6-3, 6-2), No. 4 Jennifer Gordillo (6-0, 6-1), No. 5 Brianna Hernan- dez (6-3, 6-1) and No. 6 Yes- enia Segovia (6-1, 6-0). No. 2 singles player Victoria Jaime dropped her match in a third set tiebreaker.
In doubles, the top team of Pueblas and Mulligan downed the Hoover opponents by an 8-2 score. Segovia and Co- ryenne Marrufo won their match, 8-4, while Xiadinia Guzman and Melissa Gomez
