What does it mean to be Pro-life? Over the past few decades, since abortion was legalized, the media and abortion supporters have misrepresented the term. They claim that we only care about babies in the womb and that we don’t care about women’s rights. Yet, it is the pro-life community which provides the most help to women in crisis pregnancies. The love and support do not end when the child is born. To be pro-life is so much more than to oppose abortion. To be pro-life is to also be pro-woman.
It is a movement based in science and propelled by love that shows compassion for both mothers and babies. Through ultrasound technology, now more than ever, we are given a window into the womb that confirms what has always been very clear that life begins at conception. We know that the heart begins beating in the first three weeks. We can see babies reacting to stimuli, wiggling their fingers, and moving joyfully. We can see a unique human life developing.
