Fresno County health officials warn against exposure to dead bats
MVT Staff Report
The Fresno County Department of Public Health is reminding residents of the dangers of being exposed to dead bats during the current heat wave.
Health officials say this is a common time of year for residents to see or find dead bats in
or around their homes due to the temperatures as weaker members of local bat colonies suc- cumb to the scorching heat.
The bats can be po- tential carriers of rabies, a very serious disease that is almost always fa- tal if not treated before symptoms appear.
Residents in Fresno County who encounter dead or live bats are ad- vised not to touch the animals and to keep pets away from them.
According to health officials, though many mammals can be infect- ed with the rabies virus, bats are the most com- mon in Fresno County that carry the virus.

In Loving Memory of our Dad
Armando Garza
May 14, 1939 - August 25, 2013
We thought of you with
love today
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too. We think of you in silence
We OFTEN speak your name
Now all we have is Memories
And your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping
We have you in our hearts.
7 Year Anniversary
From your loving family!
