Leo find it, and getting it off the streets, that's the kind of fulfillment I get."
A few hours later I met Officer Eric Freedenburg. Born and raised right here in Reedley, Freedenburg said he began his law enforcement ca- reer as a police explorer and knew early on he wanted to work in law enforcement.
Freedenburg said working the graveyard shift can be dif- ficult at times, however, calls sometimes keep him going throughout the night.
I left that ride along feel- ing reassured that while ev- eryone in town sleeps, these officers, K9's and sergeants are busy driving to calls and keeping the streets in town safe. So thank you officers for your service.
Later in the week, as I was writing the article for the Norman Zech Christmas Con- cert, (great job everyone!). I received a letter from John Kontillis.
John knew we had ques- tions about how the 'R' on Campbell Mountain came to be, and John answered those questions for us. Thank you so much, John. It was such a great letter and photos that we decided it needed to be shared with the community.
