Quezon City begins its initiative to solarize all
feasible buildings (public & private) in Quezon
City. It intends to maximize the use of
renewable energy to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions while also reducing electricity
consumption and cost.
A total of 1,320 solar panels installed Proof of Excellence
in eight (8) buildings in QC Hall and
two (2) public schools 9th CityNet Congress SDG Awards for Asia Pacific
579.63 Mwh total annual energy Cities and Municipalities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
generated by Solar PVs installed Finalist, Quezon City Trash to Cashback
Three (3) public hospitals as the target Program
for solar panel installation in 2022 Maynilad Water Services, Inc.
Continued installations in 50 more Water Warrior Award for Advocacy
public schools by 2023 Leadership, QC Mayor Joy Belmonte
Total of 158 public schools and 5,196 22nd Gawad Kalasag Seal and Special Awards for
city-owned buildings & facilities
available for solarization Execellence in DRRM and Humanitarian Assistance
Expanding incentives for solarization Government Energy Management Program (GEMP)
of the private sector Energy Audit Score of 99 out of 100 for the
Quezon City High Rise Building
