Introduc on
The educa on of our children is delivered across three key stages between the ages of 5-11. A child’s formal educa on starts with the Early Years Founda on Stage or Recep on as
it is more commonly known. Therea er, Key Stage One spans Years One and Two and Key Stage Two spans years Three through Six. Key Stage Two is also sub-divided into Lower KS2 (Years Three and Four) and Upper KS2 (Years Five and Six).
Recep on (Early Years)
While every school year is important, an engaging Recep on year contributes to the development of happy children who are both quick and hungry to learn. Our recep on class is precious. They are the smallest, most innocent minds in our school and we encourage all children and sta to cherish and nurture them as they nd their feet in Trinity.
Every Recep on child is allocated a ‘Buddy’ from Year Four as their ‘go-to’ friend - a prac ce which fosters companionships and provides a sense of security for our youngest.
Our bright modern Recep on classroom looks out across our idyllic playing eld and it is burs ng with a rac ve and engaging resources, games and outdoor physical equipment.
In line with best prac ce we follow the Le ers and Sounds approach to phonics and we introduce memorable and fun phrases to supplement this. With this
approach our
children enjoy
learning to read;
rapidly developing
new skills that they
will be proud to
share at home.
