All the fun of the Christmas Festival
Live entertainment, festive food, a fun fair and side stalls, and a Christmas market will bring the magic of the season alive in Thrapston on Saturday 30 November as the town stages its Christmas Festival, supported by Thrapston Town Council.
And children eager to share their Christmas list with Father Christmas
can do so in a beautiful new Grotto, kindly loaned by leading timber products manufacturer, Scotts of Thrapston.
Celebrating its sixth year, the annual event continues to grow in popularity, and this year promises to be better than ever.
A Christmas Market in the Thrapston Plaza opens the event at 2pm. The venue will be packed with local traders selling festive gifts and handcrafted presents.
Mid-afternoon, the High Street will come alive as a huge stage hosts live music and entertainment from local artists, bands, choirs and orchestras

including performers from Dynamix Dance Company, Prince William School, Rock Choir and singer Shane Noddles.
Free side stall games, a kids ‘creative’ zone, a bouncy disco and a fantastic fun fair can be enjoyed alongside delicious hot and cold festive food from local traders and stalls.
Mayor of Thrapston, Councillor Karen Draycott, said: “I’m incredibly proud that we stage this fantastic event for everyone in Thrapston and neighbouring villages. The addition of the new Santa’s Grotto from Scott’s is really exciting and we thank them for their generosity.
“I’d encourage everyone to get there early to enjoy our Christmas Market before we open our High Street for fun, food and entertainment, and of course, the big switch on of our Christmas Tree lights at 5.30pm.”
Following hot on the heals of Diamond Coaches taking up the Kettering bus route, Whippet has now started operating the Corby route. The Whippet number 18 service also calls at Huntingdon for those of you wanting to try somewhere new. Timetables are available from the Town Council office.
Contributions to the Mayor’s chosen charity, Mind, continue to come in. Donations collected at Thrapston’s fireworks display from generous residents raised a whopping £1,336.63!
In addition, the organising group for Thrapston Beer Festival & Family Fun Day, has donated £250 from their summer event to support Mind. What a generous gesture, thank you Thrapston Beer Festival.
