Coltman stretcher race
On the 20 Jun 15 team DMG(N), consisting of Capt Devonport, 2Lt Archbold, 2Lt Hain, 2Lt Hibberd, Cpl Sinclair, LCpl Williams, Pte Theobold and Pte Cassel took part in the Coltman Stretcher Race which is held in Worcestershire. This was a charity event arranged for the Royal British Legion as part of Armed Forces Day celebration. The ground that the unit covered was 11.5 km of the Malvern Hills and finished on the Herefordshire Beacon summit which had an accent of 630m.
DMG(N) arrived in Worcestershire the night before the event and we were kindly accommodated by Surgeon Commodore Buxton. Here we were hosted by his family who were most welcoming. A Fish and Chip supper was arranged for the team and we were advised to get a ‘small portion’, however LCpl Williams decided that he was capable of consuming a whale... which he did!!! that was worthy of sponsorship alone.
