The first year in appointment has provided the opportunity to proudly look back and commemorate our past, which allows us to appreciate what we have in the present and where we are heading in the future.
Remembrance offered many opportunities to look back and reflect. In November we held an intimate Service at Fox Gymnasium, visited the RAPTC’s Plot Number 136 during the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey and represented the RAPTC Association during the Remembrance Sunday Cenotaph Parade in Whitehall, London.
It was an honour to play a part in the RAPTC Service of Commemoration at the NMA and lead our Standard Bearers to our memorial, where both serving and retired members, came together to remember those that came before us and to celebrate with this year’s RAPTC Association Award recipients.
The King’s Coronation Dinner was a historic event at the home of the RAPTC. The event saw over 240 serving and retired members, including our Colonel Commandant and new Commandant, all come together to celebrate the Coronation of HM King Charles III. It provided the opportunity for the Col Comdt to recite a letter from His Majesty to all attendees that had been received from the Palace especially for the occasion.
The numerous visits this year have been inspirational. It is becoming obvious during each visit that a gymnasium is often the beating heart of the unit. No other cap badge can change a unit’s
