AYear of Fitness and Achievement in British Forces Gibraltar (BFGib) / Royal Gibraltar Regiment (RG).
In the heart of BFGib, a transformation has taken place. The once humble gym has undergone a remarkable

uplift, evolving into a cutting-edge facility that rivals the best. Equipped with state- of-the-art machinery, sleek flooring, and innovative technology like MyZone, it has become the go-to destination for service personnel seeking top-notch physical training sessions. This renovation marks a significant milestone, propelling the gym into a first-rate facility capable of catering to the diverse needs of its users.
But the transformation doesn’t end there. The annual RG challenge, a gruelling 12km endurance march held in December, tested the limits of participants over challenging terrain. Designed to cultivate leadership, teamwork, and mental and physical toughness, this year’s event witnessed the largest turnout of service personnel outside of the RG to date. The camaraderie and determination displayed by participants emphasised the unwavering spirit of resilience within the garrison community.
In the realm of martial arts, Team RG remain a force not to be underestimated. Lead by UKAF Judo player, WO2 Ethaniel Mor, the team returned from the Army Judo Championships with an impressive

haul of medals: two gold, one silver, and one bronze. Moreover, WO2 (QMSI) Daz Hunt RAPTC and Cpl Matt Hall RG made history as the first individuals to represent the unit at the Army Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships. Cpl Hall’s remarkable achievement of securing a bronze medal in his weight category further solidified the unit’s standing among its peers.
As the Regiment continues to push the boundaries of physical fitness and achievement, one thing remains clear: its dedication to building strength, resilience, and leadership among its members will continue to propel it to new heights in the years to come.
