FITNESS
Happy 10th Birthday!
Phil Millward and his brother Dave have lived in Oundle their whole lives. They started their business, Oundle Fitness, with their friend Ben Grenfell. They took over a previously closed gym as they felt Oundle needed its own fitness facility again. There is a real community feel to the gym and it creates a great social space and fun environment for its members.

What is the best thing about your job? Being able to spend time with our amazing members and to be part of their fitness journey in our
relaxed environment. The results we see are amazing and a privilege to be part of. This can be anything from achieving weight loss targets to working with members post injury and getting them functioning again in everyday life.
Hardest part of being the boss? Fortunately, we have a few of us to share the workload. With three directors, we can all take a different focus and bounce ideas off each other.
Is the gym open to all abilities? Easiest question so far! Yes, we pride ourselves on this. We have so many individuals from different walks of life using the gym. Our set up allows us to cater for both experienced users and complete novices.
What’s the best thing about being in Oundle? The sense of the community. There is
a real feel of togetherness here in the town. The kindness you see and hear on a day-by-day basis is like nowhere I’ve been before.
Best exercise for a flatter tummy? (After all the Christmas chocolates!) The complex
