There have been a smattering of new countries attending Sandhurst in 2019: Belgium, Chad, Moldova, Republic of Korea and Montenegro. Also, the re-appearance of others after a break: Albania, Azerbaijan, Colombia, Lebanon and Malawi. We have had the first women Cadets from Afghanistan, Belgium, Palestine, Albania and United Arab Emirates this year: all part of a concerted effort towards inclusion. We have again attracted some notable individuals and families: son, King of Malaysia; brother, Amir Qatar; nephew, Amir Qatar; cousin, Amir Qatar; son, President Chad and five members of the extended ruling family from Bahrain.
2019 has been a bumper year for International Cadets. Further to the future, RMAS is looking to further increase its international cohort: up to 120 on the Regular Commissioning Courses and up to 30 on the short courses.
