Sandhurst Competition 2019

At the end of their Intermediate term, whilst the rest of CC183 perfected their Sover- eign’s Parade drill, a group of 22 Officer Cadets headed to the United States Military Academy, West Point to compete in the Sand- hurst Competition, an international Patrols com- petition hosted by the US Academy, with 49 teams taking part.
After a term of early morning PT sessions, week- end rehearsal exercises and extra range sessions using US weapons systems, the trip began with several days of training on site at West Point. Both Sandhurst teams undertook ranges, medi- cal stands and an intimidating ‘ranger’ obstacle course and gleaned some vital first-hand knowl- edge of what would lie ahead in the competition, that would pay off later on.
