ground for our first game and were blown away by the spectacle that the PMA had prepared. Various spectator areas, children’s areas, hospi- tality tents, team dug outs, commentators and other facilities usually reserved for international matches in the UK, had all be laid on. Despite the intimidating setting the team put in an excel- lent performance, beating our Pakistani coun- terparts convincingly with the help of standout performances from OCdts Dingwall and Warren.
Next up for the team were two games in Islama- bad, against the British High Commission and 10 Corps Young Officers. Despite a strong effort in temperatures nearing 40 degrees, a strong High Commission side proved too much for the Sand- hurst team. The next day, against
The most impressive venue of the tour was definitely left until last, with the game against four Corps being held in the Gaddafi stadium, Paki- stan’s premier cricket stadium with a capacity of 27,000. Unfazed by the impressive surroundings, the Sand- hurst team played the best cricket of the tour with OCdts Fall and Naker

With one game remaining, the team travelled to Lahore for the final stage of the tour, where the touring party trained hard, determined to finish with a win. Before this game however, the team took part in a coaching programme organised by the British Council, engaging with young chil- dren from disadvantaged areas. This experience was invaluable in showing us the fantastic work of the British Council and other British organisa- tions working around the world.

Here they formed part of the Guard of Honour at the England Netball Quad Series, alongside other representatives of the UK Armed Forces Netball Association. This involved being responsible for the flags, marching them onto
performing with the bat and Colour Sergeant Pritchard bowling sublimely well. The remarkable effort of the team in 40-degree heat ensured a win, resulting in two wins out of the three games against Pakistan Army opposition.
This was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for everyone involved and the team would like to thank the British Council and British High Com- mission in Islamabad for all their support, without which the tour could simply not have happened.

The first match was Australia vs New Zealand. The first quarter opened up slowly, and Australia gained a large lead on New Zealand; however, after what looked like an intense motivational speech by Noeline Taurua, New Zealand’s Head Coach, the Silver Ferns went back on court with a whole new attitude. They quickly caught up with the Australian Diamonds, making it a very
