Quarterly Committee Meeting
GBC’s commi􏰀ee met again on December 2nd, as usual via Zoom. Aside from the usual admin (reviewing September mee􏰁ng minutes, apologies from the three absent commi􏰀ee members, se􏰂ng future dates etc), the mee􏰁ng discussions covered firstly an update of GGT 14 Scotland (on schedule, 67 members at our hotel plus 9 staying locally): plans now being developed for our birding ac􏰁vi􏰁es with small groups visi􏰁ng a wide range of sites to avoid overwhelming the smaller sites with larger groups. Details will be distributed to par􏰁cipants a month or so ahead of GGT.
Treasurer Liz advised commi􏰀ee that our bank (in line with others) was introducing charges for cash transac􏰁ons: although not significant, these would be kept under review. Chair Andy also updated commi􏰀ee on the IT upgrade, which is making good progress. OB Pat’s tree plan􏰁ng project is going more slowly - trees are surprisingly hard to give away! - research con􏰁nues.
Finally Jim confirmed that TV presenter and NT Wicken Fen Warden Ajay Tegala will give a Zoom presenta􏰁on to GBC on 9th January 2025 - highly recommended viewing!
