We understand that it is likely that the Municipal Corporation will ask for this structure to be listed and it is most likely that it will achieve a Grade I heritage category.
It should be stressed that historic buildings and monuments attract tourists and add to the economy of the town and city in which they exist. This is more important now as more people around the world travel to see places. In the UK people come to see the historic towns, stately homes and monu- ments; in India, the case is no different. The re-installation of the restored fountain in Mumbai will be of interest to tourists from England and in particular people visiting from Northampton. Already some people from Northampton have visited the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum to see the restoration work of the fountain in progress.
