Southern Branch Virtual Championships 2021
On behalf of the Southern Branch Virtual Show committee, I would like to thank all the exhibitors who entered and supported the show.
Thanks must also go to Norman Dickinson, Show Manager for organising the images and the judging panel, plus our reserve judge Jan Lovell and head judge Barry Newman. Marion Neden and Kelvin Mason judged Classes 1, 3, 11, 12, 15, 16 & 20, Paul Dalby and Keith Hine
judged Classes 2, 5, 6, 7, 13, 14 & 19 and Richard Hilson and Ian Clemens judged Classes 4, 8, 9, 10, 17 & 18.
We had a total of 80 entries with 57 being submitted, an equivalent of 71% being ‘staged’. Norman catalogued and coded for anonymity 173 photographs before giving access to the judging panel. I already appreciated what
a feat Norman had managing the images, but even more so when I had to rename them all to identify the
exhibitor and upload them to Flickr! We were delighted that the virtual
show enabled NVS members from across the UK and Eire to participate. Indeed, ‘Best In Show’ was awarded
to Raymond Higgins for Class 7 Peas and the Under 16s competition winners were Erica and Evanna Tully, all three exhibitors are from County Roscommon, Eire. Looking at the quality of entries from Erica and Evanna, if they continue the
