NATIONAL SPACE CENTRE VISIT

2490 (Spen Valley) Squadron felt out of space recently on a trip to the National Space Centre at Leicester!
Wing HQ kindly arranged transport, and so our friends from 96 (Dewsbury), 168 (City of Leeds), 250 (Halifax) and 59 (Huddersfield) Squadrons joined us on the coach for a trip down the M1 motorway.
The highlight of the excursion was the excellent show of the Apollo moon landings, on a massive screen in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium, the UK's largest.
A good time was had by all, and all the cadets were given a souvenir of their trip on the way back home... what teenager doesn't want earth- shaped post-it notes or rocket stickers?!?
Squadron Presentation Event
The Squadron Annual Presentation Night was held on 18 December 2023 at Batley & Birstall RAFA Club (thanks for hosting us!)
Congratulations to all cadets who received awards: badges, certificates, trophies and a promotion!

The local squadrons in Kirklees gathered together for a Halloween party at Batley RAFA Club at the end of October.
There were some great costumes, a prize raffle and some awesome singing and dancing by the cadets.
A good time was had by all.
