DLE e-learning training packages that will comprise of several modules to aid in the understanding and application of the policy. The course design phase is underway and, once complete, Front Line Commands (FLCs) will be responsible for enabling the learning throughout their AoRs. ACSO 3222 (now ACSO 1207) has also been
updated to reflect these changes; providing Army specific Direction & Guidance. So, watch this space - more work to go but we are certainly heading in the right direction.
In the previous MBS
edition, I provided
an update on the
Lone Soldier App.
Since then, Prof
Dev and HQ RAPTC
have established a
bespoke Working
Group (with key
stakeholders from
across the Army) and a commercial contract with Netcompany (a G-Cloud IT provider). Over the last 6 months, we have worked extremely hard with Netcompany to ensure our requirements translate into the Apps functionalities. For example, the App will allow a soldier to be monitored and supported by a nominated unit PTI who can then view progress and PT adherence. The App will be named MyArmyFitness; forming part of the wider MyArmy
series (MyLeave, MyAdmin etc). Initial design of MyArmyFitness will conclude in May 21, with a go-live date to follow. As an initial product, this is simply the first step on the ladder, with opportunities to increase its functionality and utility in the future - subject to funding. Digitising the existing Lone Soldier Programme has never
been so pertinent given Covid-19, increased numbers working from home and the challenges Reservists have to attend supervised PT. The App has certainly been a huge team effort by Prof Dev, HQ RAPTC and a small core team of RAPTC Officers and Soldiers – great job!
As I reflect on the last 3 years; my time at Army HQ has certainly been rewarding. The amount of change
has been significant and constant, but also extremely satisfying too - knowing all key work-strands are heading in the right PD direction. A big personal thanks to the HQ RAPTC and Div/fmn PD staff for their intimate support and contribution over this period. It’s now time to move to HQ RAPTC as the SO2 P&P. Indeed it’s déjà vu, having been the SO3 P&P back in 2010-11!
