Our 43rd D.A. Show was held on Sunday 11th September. The number of exhibitors and exhibits were slightly up compared to our last shows. Hopefully this is a sign that we are working our way back to some sort of normality after the pandemic. The quality of the exhibits was again top-notch stuff and considering the exceptionally hot days and prolonged dry spells this year it was a great effort by all exhibitors to get vegetables onto the show benches.
NEDDA would also like to pass on their thanks and appreciation to all 3 judges; Malcolm Evans, David Allison and Barry Gilthorpe for their contributions which helped make the show a success. The NVS Silver Medal was awarded to Jeff Parsons for his collection of 5 x 2’s. The Shrewsbury Trophy (Most Points in Show) went to Jeff Parsons.
A big thank you to all who helped in organising the show, setting up the venue etc. and particularly to the most important ones; the wives and partners for providing the buffet and refreshments.
Looking forward the D.A. will continue to hold their meetings at Pleasley Miners Welfare on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. This year instead of meeting every month, we have decided not to hold a meeting in June, July, August. September and December (we do not hold meetings in September and December anyway). A list of speakers and events for 2023 will be advertised when available.
Our 2023 season will start with the AGM at the above venue on the provisional date of Wednesday 18th January 2023.
