Chairman of the Officers’ Dinner
N P H R Chamberlin Esq
It was wonderful to assemble for the annual Regimental Officers Dinner held at the Cavalry & Guards Club at 127 Piccadilly in London on 10th November 2023. The event was made so much more special because the Colonel in Chief, HM King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was able to join us. Prior to the Dinner His Majesty presented three Leadership medals to three members of the serving Regiment in the library of the club and then spoke in depth with some of the Troop Leaders currently serving in the Regiment. Brigadier Angus Watson MBE as Colonel of the Regiment graciously wel- comed His Majesty our Colonel in Chief to the dinner and thanked him immensely for his continued support to the Regiment and for the very genuine interest takes in what the Regiment and Association are doing. The Commanding Officer brought all offic- ers at RD to the Dinner and spoke about what the Regiment had been up to through- out the year and what was planned for the year ahead, it is pleasing that the reputation of the Regiment across the Army remains as high as it ever has been. As we have come to expect the meal and wines were excellent and we must thank the events coordinator Alix and her team at the Cavalry and Guards Club for providing us with a first class ser- vice both for the Regimental Trustee meet- ing held throughout the afternoon and the Dinner itself.
