St James is a church family
of many ages and stages.
We gather to help each
other grow and live as
followers of Jesus Christ and we love to welcome people who are exploring the Christian faith. Our church building is located in the heart of Thrapston and topped by a substantial spire. Christians have been meeting to worship there since the mid-13th Century and 800 years on we continue to gather for weekly Sunday services along with groups and activities during the week for children and adults. To find out up to date information about what we are doing, just have a look at our website www. tdichurches.co.uk where you can also sign up to receive regular electronic newsletters.

The present Catholic Church building
in Thrapston was opened on 7th March 1964, however, the first time the Catholic Mass was celebrated in Thrapston since the Reformation
was in 1940 when
a Mass Centre was
set up by sole local
Catholic, Thomas Webber Sharp in his Midland Road garden served by the Diocesan ‘Travelling Mission.’ He later gave land for the construction of a temporary wooden church building in Grove Road, opened on 23rd June 1949 with a resident priest living alongside in a caravan. From these small beginnings 80 years ago, the Catholic Community in the Thrapston area has grown steadily, also serving the Catholic Parish in Raunds from 1968, with a combined Sunday Mass attendance of over 100 including young families and children. Mass is celebrated in St Paul’s on Sundays at 10:30am and on Thursdays at 10am. The church is situated at 4 Sackville Street, NN14 4NZ.
