2018 has seen a fantastic year for 1 Platoon and A (Grenadier) Coy. The Grenadiers deployed to Canada with the King’s Royal Hussars Battlegroup in preparation for Op CABRIT in 2019. The prairie always brings challenging training with massive variety in environment and climate. When 1 Platoon deployed the snow and cold were still biting, but soon temperatures were over
30 degrees, with the heat in the Warriors almost unbearable.
BATUS saw us completing an exciting live fire package combining everything from dismounted Company attacks with soldiers firing NLAWs to destroy enemy armour, to full Battlegroup missions where the Grenadiers assaulted enemy positions surrounded by tank and artillery fire, truly demonstrating the versatility and power
of armoured infantry. During the TES exercise, 1 Platoon were privileged to lead the final assault of the
exercise, breaking
