This culminated in an integrated tactical live firing Pl event, a significant achievement. After this, the Company’s training focus shifted to simulated training, with a
full Company deployment in the Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (CATT) as part of the
Battalion CSTTX in July, helping to prepare Commanders at all levels for the tactical actions they would face in Oman.

After a well deserved period of Summer leave, the Company deployed to Oman on Ex SS3, reinforced heavily by A Company and 3 Platoon from A Company, 3 RIFLES. Exercising in a new country, climate and with different specification vehicles created challenges which were compounded by
a number of days spent ‘champing at
the bit’ to get out onto the training area
at the start of the exercise. Nevertheless, once deployed, the training the Company achieved was second to none. After three days of Company-led training, where new

and Mounted Close
