Gunmakers Company at the West London Shooting School. The Company sponsors two archery meetings of the Royal Toxophilite Society, (the organisation that upholds high standards in archery) in July and also the British Blind Sports Archery Championships in September. The Master presented prizes at all these events.
The Master Bowyer holds the appointment for two years and is kept very busy representing the Company at a wide range of events across the City and beyond; engaging with our affiliated organisations, planning the programme of events and making sure that the Company remains
in good order. July 2018 saw the hand
over from Tony Kench to Ian Spring at an Installation Ceremony at our ‘home’ church at St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate. We thank Tony for all his hard work during his tenure and wish Ian the very best for his.
Our relationship with the Mercian Regiment is hugely valued. Reports from the Regiment are presented to the quarterly meetings of the Bowyers Court and are monitored with a keen interest. In July the Master attended the Mercian Regiment Pilgrimage at Crich and then in November was honoured to join the Mercian Regiment contingent, led by Lt Col Shove Gilby, at the opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey. The Mercian Regiment Benevolent Charity is the single largest beneficiary of Bowyers charitable giving and the Bowyers are hugely supportive of its vital work. We look forward to maintaining our strong links with the Regiment and wish all Mercians and their families the very best for 2019 wherever they may be serving. We Bowyers are proud of our affiliation with the Mercian Regiment and are glad to support its Benevolent Charity. You can find out more about the Bowyers on our website (http://www.bowyers.com).
