We have just finished our two-day stint at ‘Spring Live’ Ardingly... gosh it was a cold couple of days however much improved on the appalling weather we endured last year.
We were limited to how much we had
to sell due to just a few of us now growing for these shows but we had enough for the two days and sold practically everything we took. However, with educating in mind we had a few trays of ‘Micro greens’ which appeared to be very popular with both adults and the young people. We had plenty of seeds to give them to send them
on their way with. The potato bags also proved to be a big hit this year, especially as they realised they didn’t have to just use them for potatoes!
Once again, we had ‘tasters,’ beetroot brownies, which again, produced sales of the cookery book. We had a lot of fun and were joined by two new helpers on the stand, who after being treated to bacon butties soon got into their stride and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and cannot wait to be involved again.
At the time of writing, we are about to welcome Martyn Cox to talk to us at our
next meeting on ‘Clever ways to grow vegetables.’ Martyn is an award-winning garden writer for The Mail on Sunday, Amateur Gardening and Garden News as well as the QVC Shopping Channel. So more about that next time.
Our mini show will be in September (11th) and on November 13th we will welcome Lesley Baker who will talk to us about her experiences as a tree Surgeon.
Until the next time...
