It will be our great
honour to stage the Irish
NVS Championships
on Sunday 25th August.
We are very grateful to
Reggie Mitchell and the
committee of Moate
Show in facilitating us
again and providing us
with this venue. We would
encourage as many
members as possible
to participate. We have a generous prize fund, wonderful rosettes, and trophies for the winners of our twelve championship classes. Included will be special class confined to members who have not won a first prize at any NVS show and “The Chairman Challenge” class for a dish of 3 Kohl Rabi grown from the free
seeds kindly provided by Unwins,
to every Irish member earlier in the
year. This will be a new challenge
for all our members to try and we
wish you every success.
We very much look forward to welcoming you all to Moate Show
another NVS judge in Ireland.
Congratulations also to the three other candidates who all passed the theory exam. Many thanks to all who helped on the day and especially to Rose Egan who took the role
of invigilator. Our sincere thanks also to Fiona and the members of the NVS
judges’ examination board for your support. We will hold the practical judge’s exam in
Moate, Co. Westmeath on Monday August 26th (Day after the Irish Championships). We will need to stage a mini show for
the candidates to judge and will require
a good supply of quality vegetables. We are therefore asking our Irish
members to support us by donating some vegetables. To register your interest in taking the exam or to offer your help
on the day of the practical exam please contact Raymond Higgins (Contact Details on Page 3).
