 INTER-COMPANY TRAINING & VISITS
 LBV Reception 2017
In May this year we opted for a new venue and hosted our annual LBV Alumni Drinks Reception at the Army and Navy Club, Pall Mall, London. 45 members of the LBV
alumni attended; mostly familiar faces which was wonderful. We were also delighted that Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer KCB, DSO, MBE, was able to join us plus Sir Antony Beevor FRSL, renowned second world war historian.
A couple of pre-dinner drinks, followed by a light sit down supper in the Library of the Army and Navy Club allowed all past and present CUOTC members, serving and non-serving military guests to catch up and exchange stories and memories of past times at CUOTC. During
JUOs Bowring, Barton and Wiseman
coffee some of our current OCdts gave a short talk on their achievements throughout the past year. JUO Barton was extremely passionate
on the attributes he has gained from CUOTC; commitment, resilience and determination but mostly had fun! OCdt Bowring gave us an extremely informative brief on the Battlefield Study, Ex BLUE DESANT, a particularly unnerving task given he was in the presence of Sir Antony Beevor!
It was an extremely enjoyable and relaxed evening and we thank all those members of
the alumni for their continuing support and look forward to seeing you all again and many more at the LBV dinner on 18 Nov at Trinity Hall College, Cambridge.

   CUOTC Runs for EACH
Our nominated charity for this year has been East Anglia Children’s Hospice, a charity who support families and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
The OCdts raised £1116.10 through a series of events throughout the year. Monies were raised from the Chariots of Fire Race in Cambridge; OCdts Malpass, Lyon, Croucher, Kensit,
Murphy and Williams all completed a sponsored Marathon; there was a ‘bring a friend BBQ’ and a £100 donation from the RE Association. A huge thank you to everyone who supported this remarkable charity.
