CUOTC Annual Dinner 2017
Every Year Cambridge UOTC host its annual dinner at St John’s College, an event of magnitude and splendour yet steeped in tradition. It enables Cambridge UOTC to show itself off to a senior guest list of both military and civilian dignitaries. This
year some 200 OCdts, staff and honoured guests were present. We were honoured to have
Lt Gen Nick Pope CBE, Deputy Chief of the General Staff as our
guest speaker. A former member
of Cambridge University, he
commenced the evening in Debating Chamber of the Cambridge Union, with an interesting but light
hearted speech about his experiences. Following a few glasses of sparkling wine in
the Debating Chamber where the OCdts were immersed in hosting their guests, OCdt Peter Martin was awarded a RMAS Commandants’
Commendation for the work
he had done for Op Norfolk Remembers. The CUOTC were then piped across the streets of Cambridge to St John’s College, by 2 Pipers from the Pipes and Drums of the London Scottish Regiment, a wonderful spectacle.
