A (Grenadier) Company
After a busy 2023 A (Grenadier) Coy were fortunate to get back to basics in the early part of 2023 and were given time to train in new members of the company.
This took the form of Exercises KARDA and FURIES GRENADIER, with low level mounted and dismounted excellence being the aiming mark. Ex CHAOS GRENADIER afforded the next crop of Grenadiers a chance to earn their flash through shared adversity on a long route march and bayonet lane in the Brecon Beacons.
At Easter A (Grenadier) company was warmly embraced by the KRH BG for the foreseeable future.
This journey started with preparation and deployment on Ex IRON CYCLONE, the inaugural BG level training exercise taking place in the UK on a number of training

areas. This exercise included a fair stint in Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire during the hottest June on record, and another on Salisbury plain during the wettest July on record. Luckily Grenadiers are at their best when the conditions are at their worst and put in a strong performance, including catching the KRH Recce platoon with their metaphorical pants down during force on force training.
We look forward to an extended partnership with the KRH that will last well into 2025 for Op CABRIT and includes deployments to Germany on Exercise COMBINED RESOLVE in May 24 and combined arms live firing in Sep 24.
The final part of 2023 was spent balancing crew qualification courses in anticipation of a busy next year and
supporting the Combined Arms Manoeuvre School in delivery of the Armoured Infantry Commanders Course. Free chicken for our vehicle crews and technical team.
The company has said a fond farewell
to Maj Chris Beaumont, Cpl Black, Cpl Barr, Pte Roberts and Pte Wakefield on their departure from the Army and wish them well. We also say goodbye to Capt Rhodes, Lt Camp, Lt Blacker, WO2 Poulton, Sgt Chambers, Sgt Durrant, Sgt White
(on promotion to CSgt), LCpl Connelly
(on promotion to Cpl), LCpl Robinson,
Pte Hughes, Pte Charlery, Pte Inoke, Pte Okyere, all to other Companies or Units.... but hope to see them back one day.
Once a Grenadier, always a Grenadier.
