Op INTERFLEX has dominated the last year, with B Coy providing the largest contingent from 4 MERCIAN. B Coy has been as busy as ever taking over Head of Establishment at Stanney Lane ARC, Ellesmere Port, where 4 Pl, B Coy is now the lead unit (with the nearby Royal British Legion now closed Stanney Lane ARC is the sole military location in the area and a flourishing hub for Veterans as well as Tri Service Cadets
in addition to B Coy). The gym and bar
are being improved. Sgt Tom Wood (Pl Comd) and Sgt Andy Powell are doing an excellent job at growing 4 Pl. The Mortar Pl continues to thrive in Stockport under WO2 Kit Harrison (who has done an excellent
job running the Pl on his own). A strong Mortar contingent attended Oakhampton ACT conducting DTTT courses in place of cancelled Mortar Live Firing; with Future Soldier we hope this to change in the future.
Congratulations go to LCpl Neil Kirby and Pte Sam Francis who, as members of the
4 MERCIAN Cambrian Patrol team achieved a Silver medal.
Away from training B Coy went mountain biking in North Wales and Pte Laurence Skidmore represented the Army in the Tri Service Athletics Championship, finishing 2nd in the 800m beating RN and RAF.
B Coy will go Go Karting this winter to welcome back those on INTERFLEX.
B Coy has continued to provide the G4 support to the Pre CIC weekends at Altcar and the B Coy CQMS Team know Altcar camp inside out!
We said farewell to Cpl Mark Simpson from Ellesmere Port who retired after 38 years service. He was the backbone of
B Coy and Bn catering. We wish him all the best for his retirement. Pte Richard Stanley (newly qualified as a chef) is doing a fantastic job at taking on the role.
Congratulations to LCpls Owen Evans, Patrick Stafford and Neil Kirby who passed SCBC as well as to Ptes Chris MacFadden, Paul Goldsmith, Matt Rynhart, Nick
Pte Laurence Skidmore receiving his Silver medal at the Tri Services Athletics championship
Dalakouras and Ben Hennegan, who passed PJNCO Cadres.
Good luck to Pte James Baroy-Jones and Pte Dan Harrison who start on the next INTERFLEX mobilisation in Jan 24.
